Born on June 12, 1995 in the vibrant city of Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria as Paul Raymond Osemudiame, Big Rain was destined for greatness. Thanks to his music-loving parents who encouraged his passion for music, his childhood was filled with the sweet sounds of jazz, reggae, and gospel music. He spent hours listening to artists such as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, and Michael Jackson, studying their techniques and learning from their legacies.
Big Rain’s musical journey began in a church choir, where he honed his vocal skills and developed a deep appreciation for the power of music to uplift and inspire. As he grew older, he began writing his own songs, putting his heart and soul into every lyric and melody.
After exploring the business world, Big Rain returned to his first love, music, in 2023.
The results were nothing short of magical.
His debut project, “Lifestyle,” released on November 12, 2023, was a complete success, garnering impressive numbers and gaining a loyal fanbase. The song’s catchy beat and inspiring lyrics resonated with listeners from all walks of life, cementing Big Rain’s status as a rising star in the Afrobeat scene. Since then, he has released five more songs, each a testament to his creative talent and dedication to the arts.
His music is a mix of Afrobeat, R&B and pop, with lyrics that speak about the human experience, love and self-empowerment. With his unique sound and style, Big Rain is ready to take the music industry by storm. Big Rain is inspired by legends like Fela Kuti, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley and believes that music should be a powerful tool to spread love and goodwill.
With this in mind, he created a sub-genre under Afrobeat called “Afrolove”, which aims to share love and positivity through music. His mission is to use his platform to inspire and uplift others and promote unity and solidarity through the universal language of music.
