Our Unforgettable Journey Across Johannesburg, Eswatini & Cape Town: A Travel Recap

An African Adventure Full of Culture, Fun, and Life Lessons

Traveling across Southern Africa was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. Together with three close companions, we set out as a group of four to explore Johannesburg, Eswatini and Cape Town.

From wildlife, city life, cultural performances and enjoying Ghanaian food far from home, this journey was filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Our journey actually began in Johannesburg, where we spent a few nights before continuing to Cape Town & Eswatini. This gave us the opportunity to settle in, explore the city, and prepare ourselves for the adventure ahead.

During our stay, we experienced the vibrant lifestyle of Joburg, visited major attractions, and enjoyed Ghanaian cuisine, which made us feel at home even while abroad.

After our time in Johannesburg, we boarded a flight to Cape Town, one of Africa’s most beautiful cities. We spent three amazing nights there, and every day was filled with excitement.

The V&A Waterfront was one of our favorite places. It was lively, clean, and full of entertainment. We enjoyed:

  • Shopping
  • Restaurants
  • Harbor views
  • A relaxing cruise boat tour

Seeing Cape Town from the sea was refreshing and unforgettable.

We visited the famous Cape Town Stadium in Green Point. It is a world-class facility and a symbol of South Africa’s strong sporting culture.

Cape Town’s beaches were simply beautiful. With mountains behind and the ocean in front, places like Camps Bay and Clifton gave us peace and perfect photo moments.

🚌 Hop-On Hop-Off City Tour

We joined the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus City Tour, which made sightseeing easy and enjoyable. We learned about:

  • The city’s history
  • Important landmarks
  • Cultural heritage

Cultural Dance Experience

One of the highlights in Cape Town was watching traditional South African dance performances. The music, energy, and colorful costumes showed strong cultural pride and identity.

Ghanaian Food in Cape Town

Just like in Joburg, we also enjoyed Ghanaian food in Cape Town. Sharing familiar dishes brought joy and reminded us that home is never too far away.

After spending days settling in Sandton, Johannesburgand Cape Town our team set out for the next leg of the adventure: Eswatini, a serene and beautiful kingdom renowned for its rich culture and stunning natural landscapes.

As we traveled through the country, we were impressed by:

  • The green mountains and valleys
  • Well asphalted roads from Johannesburg to Eswatini
  • Quiet towns and traditional villages
  • Friendly and welcoming people

Border Challenge at Oshoek – Learning Patience

Like every real journey, ours also came with a challenge.

At the Oshoek Border Post between South Africa and Eswatini, we experienced some immigration difficulties. Because of this, we could not cross immediately and had to spend the night at Oshoek Border Hotel near the Mbabane border.

Although this delay was unexpected, it taught us important lessons:

  • Always be patient
  • Prepare your documents well
  • Stay calm in difficult situations

The hotel was comfortable, and by the next day, everything was resolved. What seemed like a problem later became part of our beautiful travel story.

Traveling as a Group of Four – Brotherhood on the Road

Traveling as a group of four made this journey even more special.

  • Supported one another
  • Shared costs
  • Took photos for each other
  • Solved problems together
  • Laughed through challenges

This trip strengthened our friendship and taught us teamwork and patience. I encourage everyone, especially young Africans, to travel, explore, and tell their stories. Africa is beautiful. go and see it for yourself.
