In a power filled and inspiring interview on DMV’s most authoritative radio station, The Hype 87.3 FM,  emerging artist Free$ shared his remarkable life story from his roots in Africa to his trials in America and how music became his ultimate form of self-expression.

Free Dollar revealed that his parents brought him to the United States from Sierra Leone at the tender age of 14. Adjusting to a new country came with significant challenges. After facing numerous hardships, he spent three years incarcerated. That difficult period became a turning point. Behind bars, he gained clarity and vowed to stay true to himself and fully pursue his passion.

“Music is my most altruistic self,” Free$ shared during the interview. Drawing from the vibrant energy of his African heritage and the gritty, streetwise influence of American culture, Free$ has developed a distinctive sound that fuses both worlds. He pointed to his two released singles, “Money Money” and “Jugging”, as clear proof of this fusion. a captivating blend of Afrobeats rhythms and hip-hop rap that delivers both vibe and substance.
